Como agree loan deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Sanchez

Como have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea for the loan signing of Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, with the 28-year-old goalkeeper now expected to begin a new chapter of his career in Serie A.

The two clubs have covered the key terms of the loan and Sanchez is expected to complete the formalities before the move is officially announced.

Sanchez is set to replace Emil Audero Törnqvist at the Stadio Sinigaglia outfit, with the Swedish goalkeeper closing in on a switch to fellow Serie A side Monza.

The move also follows the arrival of Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Dibu Martinez at Stamford Bridge, which has reshaped the English side's options between the posts.

The Spanish international joined Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2023 and has since experienced periods as both a starter and a squad player at the London club.

A loan to Como, ply their trade in Serie A, gives him the chance to rebuild momentum and play regular football.

For Como, the signing is another clear statement of ambition as the tacticians strengthen with proven top-level material in their push up the Italian top flight.

What does the loan mean for Sanchez?

A loan move gives the Spanish shot-stopper regular first-team football away from Stamford Bridge, where competition for the gloves intensified following Martinez's arrival from Aston Villa.
