Christos Tzolis joins Arsenal after £34m deal

Arsenal have confirmed a £34m move for Greek striker Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, meaning the winger will join the Premier League champions before the 2024‑25 season starts.

The 23‑year‑old, who netted 22 goals and supplied 29 assists last season in Belgium, left Brugge’s squad for a pre‑season friendly against Heerenveen. Club Brugge bossझफ Leko said the player signed a contract to return to the EPL, where he previously played for Norwich.

"He worked day‑in, day‑out and now he’s getting a chance with one of Europe’s biggest clubs," Leko told reporters. “It’s a win for the player, our club and Belgian football. He’ll bring the same intensity to the Premier League and we believe he deserves the opportunity."

Arsenal manager said Tzolis’s arrival will add depth to the back‑three, especially on the right side. He will replace Leandro Trossard, who moved to Besikta. "Tzolis is a quick, technically sound forward who can cut inside and create chances for teammates," the manager added.

How will Tzolis fit into Arsenal’s attack?

The Gunners will likely slot Tzolis into a wide role, pairing him with the club’s attacking full‑backs. His pace and dribbling will allow him to stretch Defenders and create spaces for the forwards. If he adapts quickly, he could become a reliable rotationride for a congested fixture list.

Why did Brugge let go of a top player immediately after a stellar season?

Brugge’s decision centres on the lucrative offer. The club reportedly earned close to £34m, which sey growth for a Belgian side that relies on exports. Their losing a goal‑scoring talisman may hurt their domestic campaign, but the influx of funds will pay off in new signings.

Will Tzolis become a key player for Arsenal?

If he gels with the squad, his speed will give Arsenal more attacking options. On the other hand, adaptation to a high‑pressure Premier League environment will test his resilience. The answer will unfold over the coming months.
