CAS delays Senegal Morocco AFCON 2025 ruling to November

The Court of Arbitration for Sport will deliver its final ruling on the Senegal versus Morocco AFCON 2025 final dispute at the end of November 2026.

A closed-door hearing took place at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne on Thursday 8 October 2026.

The panel has opted to issue a complete CAS Award with full legal grounds rather than a summary decision.

Only information published through official CAS channels will be considered authoritative.

Senegal won the final 1-0 in Rabat before CAF awarded the title to Morocco following post-match incidents.

The Senegalese Football Federation appealed that decision to CAS seeking reversal.

A previous CAS ruling in 2015 cleared Morocco to play in the 2017 and 2019 editions after CAF had banned them for refusing to host the 2015 tournament over Ebola concerns.

The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether CAF will respect a verdict that goes against its own disciplinary committee.

Key dates:

  • Hearing: 8 October 2026, Lausanne
  • Expected CAS Award: end of November 2026
  • Final result on pitch: Senegal 1-0 Morocco
  • CAF decision: title awarded to Morocco
  • Appellant: Senegalese Football Federation
