Carlos Queiroz and the Ghana Football Association have mutually agreed to terminate his contract as Black Stars head coach on Wednesday.
The Portuguese tactician leaves after a disappointing start to the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers where Ghana lost 2-1 away to Ivory Coast and 4-2 at home to The Gambia.
"Following discussions held in a spirit of mutual respect, the Ghana Football Association and I have mutually agreed to terminate the Service Agreement," a statement on the FA website reads.
Queiroz took charge in April and oversaw seven matches, winning one, drawing two and losing four.
"It has been an honour to serve Ghana and the Black Stars. I sincerely thank the Ghana Football Association and particularly its President for their trust," Queiroz said.
A planned friendly against Morocco later this week has since been scrapped.
The argument doing the rounds in Accra is whether the GFA should appoint a local coach or chase another foreign name with the qualifiers already slipping.
Queiroz record with Ghana
