BUL moved to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with a 4-1 hammering of Kataka at BCS Stadium in Bukedea on Thursday evening, the same night Express FC edged KCCA 2-0 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Derrick Byabachwezi was the star boy for the visitors, giving BUL a fourth-minute lead before doubling the advantage in the 21st minute with his second of the evening.

Kataka pulled one back before the break through Ali Sentamu's penalty after Ismail Tamubula was brought down in the box, and the home faithful dared to dream.

BUL, however, restored the two-goal cushion five minutes after the hour mark when Byabachwezi completed his hat-trick, set up by Frank Katongole.

Simon Oketch Achidi added a fourth after Ssewagudde provided the assist to complete a ruthless away shift for the tacticians from Jinja.

The result takes BUL to six points from two matches, while Kataka remain on one point and continue to search for their maiden win of the campaign.

At Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, Express recorded their first victory of the season and the Red Eagles will feel it was nothing less than they deserved.

The two sides traded chances in a goalless first half, with KCCA coming closest when Saidi Mayanja's effort struck the crossbar in the 34th minute.

Express goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya also produced a timely save to deny Charles Lwanga, keeping the Tax Collectors at bay.

The Red Eagles broke the deadlock six minutes after the restart, Isaac Wagoina finishing past KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa.

Henry Wamala came close to doubling the lead when his effort hit the woodwork, before Derrick Ddungu sealed the points in stoppage time after capitalising on a defensive lapse.

Express move to sixth place on three points, while KCCA remain without a point after their opening two matches, and the argument doing the rounds in Kampala is how long the Kasasiro faithful will stomach another slow start.
