Arsenal crush Manchester City in Community Shield win

Arsenal beat Manchester City 3-0 at Cardiff to clinch the Community Shield on Saturday.

The Gunners delivered a clinical performance in their first major silverware challenge of the season.

Riccardo Calafiori, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard all found the back of the net to secure the win.

This result marks Arsenal's 18th Community Shield title and their second trophy in four months.

New City manager Enzo Maresca, who took over following Pep Guardiola's departure, described the defeat as hurting the outfit.

"It's a defeat that hurts us, but it's just the beginning," Maresca said.

Arsenal looked unstoppable from the start, scoring after only 23 seconds to catch the defending champions off guard.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted he was a bit surprised by the convincing nature of the win.

"To play in the manner we did is extremely impressive," Arteta told TNT Sports.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown noted that the gap between the two sides was stunning.
