Egyptian giants Al Ahly Sports Club touched down at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday with a 64-man delegation ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Kitara FC this Saturday.
The contingent arrived aboard an Egypt Air flight at 4 AM and was received by Egypt's Ambassador to Uganda H.E Monzer Selim alongside FUFA and Kitara officials.
"The Al Ahly SC delegation arrived in Uganda safely. We are happy for the friendly reception by the Ugandan officials. We expect a great friendly match," Ambassador Monzer told journalists at the airport.
The visitors cleared immigration before boarding Kayoola EV buses for the journey to Hoima via Masindi road where they will camp at Mika Echo Resort Hotel.
Al Ahly arrive on the back of a statement win over arch-rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League.
Kitara meanwhile have started their StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign brightly with 1-0 and 2-1 victories over Kigezi Home Boyz and Kataka respectively.
The Royals reached this stage after eliminating Mogadishu City Council 4-1 on aggregate winning both legs 2-1 and 2-0 at Hoima City Stadium.
This marks Kitara's second appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
